I.P.A. S.A. – Green Port & Sustainable Development
The Igoumenitsa Port Authority (I.P.A. S.A.) is a pioneer in sustainable development and a leading force in the “Green Transition” among the ports of Greece and the Adriatic. Through the implementation of the “ALFION-INFRA” program and the completion of its infrastructures by 2026, it will become the first port in Greece capable of providing electric power supply to ships directly from shore (OnShore Power Supply – OPS), significantly reducing pollutant emissions.
The port’s infrastructures shall include:
– A Photovoltaic Park with a capacity of 1.5 MW
– Use of LED lighting in all facilities, achieving up to 70% energy savings
– High Power DC Charging Stations (HPDC) for public use
– A proprietary fleet of electric vehicles and shuttle buses
– Construction of an Alternative Fuel Terminal Station
All these actions substantially contribute to reducing the carbon footprint, saving more than 60,000 tons of CO2, while at the same time strengthening the local community and the environment through the optimization of port operations.

I.P.A. S.A. is committed to providing high-quality services to all port users, maintaining high standards of safety and protection, while continuously striving for progress, sustainability, and improvement.
